This is a song that I started around the early to mid 1980s but never finished. I finally set out to finish the song. The original song used – probably exclusively – an Oberheim OBsx for the musical instruments and a Roland BOSS drum machine. I’m sure it was recorded on a Tascam 22-4 reel-to-reel tape deck.
The new recording uses a combination of soft synths included in Cakewalk by BandLab and patches from a Yamaha MU128 sound module. The sound is surprisingly similar but also better.
On the original recording I was, to some degree, adlibbing the vocals as is evident by the vocals dropping out at points because I couldn’t think of appropriate vocals fast enough.
The new song keeps the same flavor as the original in that it is about a boy that is jilted by his girlfriend and ultimately gets his revenge.
